Paternity Leave
- Additional Paternity Leave
- From April 2011
- Designed to assist parents in sharing childcare responsibilities
- Employed fathers will be able to take up to 6 months additional paternity leave once the mother has returned to work
- Up to 3 months Statutory paternity Pay can be paid if Statutory Maternity Pay has not already been utilised by mother
- Basic Information
- Father can go on Paternity Leave between 20 weeks and 1 year after the birth of the child
- Father must have 26 weeks continuous service by 15 weeks before baby due
- Must give 8 week’s notice
- Need to complete Father and Mother Declaration Forms

Flexible Working
- Currently applies to:
- Parents of children under 17
- Parents of disabled children under 18
- Carers of certain adults
From 6th April 2011 – will be extended to parents of all children under 18

Agency Workers Regulations
- From 1st October 2011 (Main provisions)
- Agency worker entitled to the same basic working and employment conditions as he/she would have been entitled to for doing the same job has he/she been recruited by the hirer directly at the start of the qualifying period
- 12 week qualifying period

Bribery Act
- Bribery Act came in on 1st July 2011
